Day 3: The Blue Castle by L.M. Montgomery

Yes, that L.M. Montgomery. Fiction, but with a magical quality to it. Story of a woman in her late 20's in the Muskokas who leads a joyless, repressed existence until she finds out she has only a year to live. Suddenly finds a reason to rebel and take control of her own life. Plus, you know, there's a beautiful romance in there *and* a happy ending. This is not a children's book, even though I first read it when I was maybe 9 or 10. Have lost count of how many times I've re-read it since then. A classic for good reason.
